The 2008 harvest is in, we believe due to the excellent weather we had earlier this summer, the blanc du bois white wines should be excellent this year. The 2008 blanc du bois should be bottled in November, in time for the holidays. We also received excellent harvest of reds and enough black spanish to refill the Stagecoach bottles, hopefully sometime in 2009. In the meantime, get your stagecoach, we are running low on inventory. Stagecoach we have now is from the 2006 harvest. Due to the rain in 2007, we have no black spanish from 2007.
Releasing this month, Cabernet Sauv., Petite Syrah featuring artwork from Cheryl Hicks on the label. Soon to be bottled deep dry red wine Cabernet Franc... this one should be ready to begin opening in about 6 weeks.
We said farewell to Brittany, the summer tasting room manager, she off to study cell biology and to do research on texas wine grape plants with a professor @ UT Tyler. Brittany will be making a guest appearance at the next event and will be available to assist with your wines on September 6, 2008 for the Wendy Colonna event.

The benefit Saturday, June 28 was a great success. We were lucky enough to get Blue Collar Crime out here from Dallas. The music was amazing. Their charity of choice was the Southern Poverty Law Center, and we really appreciate all the donations people made. We raised a little over $600! Thank you to everyone that attended in support of the cause.

Tara would like to thank everyone who attended the one year anniversary party for supporting our winery (as well as everyone that could not make it). The Danny Hollis band played excellent and the party was a great success. We look forward to a lot more exciting and fun events over the summer! We will be bottling the blend that we featured at the party very soon.

Tara was blessed with several inches of snow this morning! Large snow flakes landed through the vineyard. Luckily, the vines have not budded yet, so we believe we are still set for a great 2008 growing season. NEXT EVENT March 15, 2008. Plan on coming and greeting our 2 young interns from France who will be at TARA for 3 weeks assisting in the Winery and in the Vineyard. They arrive on March 15th. We hope to greet them Texas style!

Stagecoach Red is being bottled right now! Come and taste! We are carefully monitoring the Texas MERLOT harvest and as soon as we have a tentative date for Harvest, we will plan Tara's Stagecoach Red's celebration! Coming soon! tours through the new fermentation room!

Due to the crazy wet weather conditions, the 2007 Blanc du Bois crop is coming in batches in between rain storms, the first 100 gallons is being settled in tanks. We hope to have the harvest completed by the end of the week. Its been a tough year for grape growers, rain is not necessarily the grapes best friend, especially during harvest.
We plan to have a celebration soon for the completion of the Blanc du Bois harvest and to toast to "Tara's Stagecoach Red" to be bottled in the next few weeks. Stagecoach Red is a Texas based blend with great mouthfeel, upfront fruit aroma and a wonderful finish. Red Table Wine. Texas grapes, Black Spanish were handled exclusively by Pierce family, harvested and made in 2006. Black Spanish was blended with red wine aged in American Oak barrels.

Thank you to everyone who attended that Grand Opening Party, it was a great event. For those of you interested in the limited production of Blanc du Bois, a dry wine made from grapes grown in Athens Texas in 2006, we sold out in the first hour. The good news is that we will be producing more Blanc du Bois this summer. The 2006 Texas Blanc du Bois - Semi-Sweet wine was also featured at the Grand Opening and is available.
The "Gone with the Zin" was also a favorite. We hope to see all of you again soon.
